Shrimp Bolognese

This seafood Bolognese replaces minced meat with finely chopped shrimp, offering a delicate flavour that pairs beautifully with tomatoes, garlic, and herbs. It’s a quick, weekday-friendly dish that brings a coastal twist to an Italian favourite.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 300 g raw shrimp, peeled and chopped

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 400 g canned tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)

  • Salt, pepper, and parsley to taste

  • 300 g spaghetti or tagliatelle

Preparation

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onion and garlic until soft.

  2. Add chopped shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes, until pink.

  3. Stir in tomatoes, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. Cook pasta until al dente, combine with the sauce, and top with parsley.
